Complete Report on 3 Miami CrossFlorida Workshops by Dick B. and Ken B.

The Miami CrossFlorida.org conference February 8 and 9, 2013 was the first of such summit conferences to be held. And it was well-attended, dynamic, informative, and filled with excellent speakers, workshops, music, and a spread of goodies that continued throughout  the two days.

The plan is to have such a Christian Recovery South Florida Summit  each year. It will grow as the huge Florida population attending various recovery  groups gets the word that  this is the place to hear Christian speakers, Christian workshops, and Christian music--while also being able to get your fill of information on overcoming many types of addictions and doing so with the history of the Twelve Step movement and the experience of long-recovered speakers and leaders right there. A  place to network, to exchange views, to ask questions, to learn new information, and help move the growing Christian Recovery Movement forward at its present fast pace.

Ken and Dick B. were there representing International Christian Recovery Coalition. They were the featured guests--who came to Miami all  the way from Maui Hawaii. They conducted three one-hour workshops on the Christian roots of the 12 Step movement, Alcoholics Anonymous, the basic biblical ideas incorporated in  the anonymous recovery programs, and a completely new view of the Christian origins, history, founding, original Akron Fellowship program, its successes, the so-called six word-of-mouth ideas, Bill Wilson's great contributions to the ideas of conversion to God through Jesus Christ and also his active demonstration of the importance of helping others. The Christian organizations and people who catalyzed Christian recovery from 1850 on were detailed. So were the facts about the intense Christian upbringing of A.A. cofounders Dr. Bob and Bill W. in their home state of Vermont. So also  the important story of how the first three AAs got sober before there were any Steps, Traditions, Big Books, drunkalogs, or meetings like those today.

Shortly, the complete content of the Dick B. Ken B. presentations at the three workshops will be posted on a wide variety of our media outlets: websites, newsletters, articles, blogs, chats and forums, videos, radio, and personal communication. Stay tuned. God Bless, Dick B.
