Each Day Brings More News of Old School A.A. Groups Forming

Today I just received and replied to the following material from Arizona:

Dear Paul: [This is the Dick B. response to the good news from Paul]

That is great news, and we are seeing it happen—group by group, fellowship by fellowship, and church by church. We are devoting a great deal of time to the guides, the audios, the videos, the interviews, and work with individual leaders. And the Christian Recovery Movement is growing substantially and quickly.

I’ll let Ken contact you first because you have dealt more with him. But after that, I’d be delighted to talk to you again.

There have long been James Clubs and Big Book/Bible study and AA history study groups—even a good many of our bestirring Christian Recovery Fellowships. But getting the actual church pastors and then their recovery or group leaders has required patience, lots of information sending, and the effort to acquaint leaders with exactly how to overcome almost all of the difficulties that have come to those who have suffered rebuke, intimidation, and outright censorship because they didn’t have the offense/defense tools we have now put together and tested in our many recent workshops and meetings. Thus the recent meetings at His Place Church in Whittier, California; Golden Hills Community Church in Brentwood, California; Church of the Nazarene in Oroville, California; and groups in South Carolina, Texas, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, and many other spots are giving us an excellent pilot picture and network potential for those who climb aboard.

I am hoping that the modest monthly support churches and others  are providing directly to us, plus some lump sum donations, will prove to be the sustaining factor that enables us to pump out our dissemination materials, keep in touch with the groups and leaders, work more on radio and video support materials, and attend workshops where we are invited and sustained.

Thank you for this great move and the news.

We voted to go for the christian AA meeting .  I have a lot of great momentum, we are all praying to HS (HS Holy Spirit vs HP higher power!) for guidance. Next week we set format and guidelines .  We have a room that will hold 100 at my sons Christian High School. Anxious to see who God sends out way.
