Manna House Ministries in Tennessee Receives High Tribute

Manna House Ministries of Jamestown, Tennessee Has Just Published The Following Article In Its Newsletter The Bridge And Receives A Real Tribute

[Manna House is a Participant in International Christian Recovery Coalition, is headed by James Moody, and was our very first Christian Recovery Resource Center]

A Hefty Vote for Manna House and the Christian Recovery Movement

by Dick B.

This is a brief, but high powered tribute to the work that James Moody and Manna House have done for Christians in recovery and those suffering souls who want God’s help in overcoming the ravages of alcoholism and addiction. And from my vantage point, they deserve a special vote of thanks for their part in the great strides made in the Christian Recovery Movement since International Christian Recovery Coalition was formed in July of 2009 after a nationwide conference of Christian Recovery leaders, workers, newcomers, and the public. That conference took place in May of 2009 at Mariners Church Community Center, Irvine, California.

James Moody and his entourage from Tennessee attended that conference. And, to all present, it was apparent that they were on fire for the idea of moving God’s love, power, forgiveness, guidance, and healing to the fore once again in the A.A. fellowship, the practice of the Twelve Steps, and the vital focus on helping the suffering newcomer find and receive God’s help.

Here, therefore, are several things about James Moody and our international work.

First, Manna House became the first Christian Recovery Resource Center in the world, and it became a model for others almost at once. Please check out the Coalition website at www.ChristianRecoveryCoalition.com for details.

Then note how many Coalition projects have been instituted since its founding. They include the free distribution of thousands of free A.A. History books. They include the establishment of our website. They include a large number of networking meetings, personal talks, internet posts, newsletters, and major conferences with participants. They include circulation of blogs, newsletters, comments on forums, a speaker’s bureau, and now the worldwide radio interviews of Christian Recovery Leaders. All these help disseminate the facts about the role that God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Bible played in the origins, history, founding, original Christian Fellowship program of A.A. in Akron, and its astonishing successes. More important, perhaps—how they can and should play that role once again and in harmony with the Twelve Step fellowships and Christian recovery efforts today.

A closing word about James and his ministries. Manna House has become a true bridge between solid Christian recovery treatment, fellowships, and information dissemination and those who recognize and work with Twelve Step groups and programs. It is a stellar referral source. It has reached out to other communities, public agencies, and dedicated servants. And—for us—the clincher was the dynamite talk James Moody just gave at the “Stick with the Winners” world-wide workshop of the International Christian Recovery Coalition at His Place Church in Westminster, California in May. Traveling many a mile to be with us in California, James stirred up a heap of praise and power as he told us all what the Christian Recovery Movement is accomplishing and how the Jamestown crew want and work to help grow it, report it, and live it. Therefore, many thanks to James and the entire Manna House Ministries efforts! God Bless.
